The construction decision that matters
Four 50 cm segments, joined by three 10 cm flexible link strips. A continuous strip has to be bent around each corner of a television, and a tight bend in a COB strip damages the emitters. Segments let each side lie flat and put the bending in a short flexible link designed for it.
That is neater and it lasts longer. The cost is three joints, which are three places that can eventually fail.
The colour temperature
6500 K. The reference white of a picture, so the eye’s balance is left undisturbed — which is what separates a bias light from decorative lighting.
What is not stated is the CRI, the colour accuracy figure. The Fosingut strip on this shelf publishes CRI 90+; this one publishes nothing.
The dimmer, and the memory
An in-line cable dimmer, continuously variable, with a brightness memory. Set it once at the level that suits the room, and it returns there every time the television comes on. No app, no remote, nothing to pair.
On a product that should be invisible in daily use, that is the right design.
The length
Two metres. Enough to frame a mid-sized screen. A 65-inch set has a perimeter beyond it, and the strip would need extending.
