The design decision, stated plainly

No access to menus or settings as supplied. Volume and channel selection, and nothing else.

That reads like a limitation and it is the entire point. An accidental menu change is the commonest way a television becomes unusable for someone who did not mean to change anything — a picture mode, an input, a language. A remote that cannot reach the menu cannot cause it.

Learning, from anything

It copies signals from any infrared remote, any manufacturer. No database to be absent from, no code to look up. The condition is the same as for every learning remote: the original has to work.

The feedback

An LED that flashes to confirm a command was sent. On a remote used by somebody unsure whether the button worked, that is a real reassurance — press, flash, and the uncertainty is gone.

The size

5.5 × 23 × 2 cm, published. Long and narrow, which for a hand that struggles with a small flat object is easier to hold than a compact remote.

The one thing to weigh outside Germany

German labelling on the keys. The functions are universal; the words are not.

Keep the original

You will need it to teach this one, and to reach the settings this one deliberately cannot. It is an addition to a household, not a replacement.
