The best projector stands and tripods for 2026

A projector on a stand can be aimed where a ceiling mount cannot, and the stand is judged on three things. Height range, which has to reach the lens height the geometry needs — usually just below or just above the bottom edge of the image, depending on the projector's vertical offset. Stability, which is the reason to look at the stated weight of the stand itself rather than its load rating: a light tripod holding a two-kilogram projector at a metre and a half is a trip hazard with an expensive object on top. And the mounting interface — a flat tray with a lip, or a 1/4-inch photographic thread that screws into the projector's own socket, which is far more secure. We compare height range, stated load capacity, tray size or thread type, tilt adjustment, and folded dimensions.

What we recommend

    • Publishes the tray dimensions, which is the measurement that decides fit
    • A height range starting at 66 cm, low enough for a coffee-table geometry
    • A flat tray is far less secure than a 1/4-inch thread screwed into the projector

Best for: A projector moved between rooms or taken outside, where a fixed mount is not an option.

  2. Victiv DH01 desk clamp stand with ball head and extension arm

Victiv DH01 desk-clamp stand with 1/4-inch ball head

It clamps to a table rather than standing on legs, and it holds by a 1/4-inch thread rather than a tray — two decisions that change what it is for.

    Four-section aluminium, 28 mm diameter — stated
    Height range

    • A 1/4-inch thread, which screws into a portable projector's own socket and holds positively
    • A clamp base, so it takes no floor space and cannot be tripped over
    • 3 kg rules out every projector that is not a portable one

Best for: A portable projector with a tripod socket, clamped to a desk or a table edge.
