What it actually is

A camera desk stand. The maker describes cameras, DSLRs, webcams and panel lights. It appears on this shelf because its 1/4-inch thread and 3 kg rating are exactly what a portable projector needs — but the projector application is an inference, not a manufacturer claim, and this page will not pretend otherwise.

Why the thread beats a tray

A 1/4-inch screw goes into the projector’s own socket and holds it positively. A tray holds by gravity, and a tilted tray by less. If the projector has the socket, this is the better mechanism by a wide margin.

The check that settles it

Look underneath the projector. One threaded socket means this works. Four threaded holes in a rectangle means it needs a universal arm mount, and this stand cannot hold it.

The clamp

A C-clamp for table edges up to 5 cm thick. No legs, no floor space, nothing to trip over — and it needs a table edge that is thin enough and accessible. Measure it.

The limit

3 kg at the head. Portable projectors are well under it; a home cinema projector is three to eight kilograms and belongs somewhere else entirely.

The extras

A lamp head, a phone clip and a side extension arm with its own 1/4-inch head. All of it is photographic, and the extension arm is genuinely useful for a small second device.
