The note to read before ordering

If the television is already on a wall mount, it has to come off. The maker states this plainly. This bracket shares the set’s VESA holes, so the existing mount is removed and refitted with this one in place.

That turns a fifteen-minute job into an afternoon — unless the television is going up for the first time, in which case it costs nothing at all.

What tool-free adjustment buys

Knobs rather than bolts, plus 360° rotation and extending arms. Adjusting a soundbar’s position with the bar in place, and being able to correct it later, is worth more than it sounds: the difference between a bar too far forward — reflecting off the screen — and one too far back is a couple of centimetres.

Above or below

Below is where a bar belongs acoustically, putting the sound where the picture is. Above is the answer when the furniture below is occupied or the set sits low. This mount does either.

The load, and the fixing behind it

6.8 kg — less than half what the wall brackets on this shelf carry. And a VESA-attached mount adds that weight to the television’s own wall fixing, which was rated for a television. That is the real cost of this design, and it is why the wall-bracket designs exist.
