Why this shelf exists

A soundbar on a shelf in front of a television covers its infrared window, and often the bottom of the screen. The remote stops working and part of the picture is gone. Mounting the bar below the screen fixes both, and that is the whole product.

The two designs, and which this is

A wall bracket holds the bar independently, on its own fixings. A VESA-attached mount hangs the bar from the television’s mounting holes, adding its weight to that one fixing.

This is a wall bracket — which is why it carries 15 kg where the VESA mounts here stop at 6.8.

How it holds

Clamping arms with soft anti-slip padding, and a locking knob under each. No mounting holes are needed in the soundbar, which matters because soundbar mounting points are not standardised and many bars have none at all.

The number to check against your bar

10.2 to 16.6 cm. That is the depth range the arms accommodate. A very deep bar falls outside it, and the measurement is easier taken with a ruler than assumed.

The wall
