The claim, stated plainly

500 km. Terrestrial transmission is limited by the horizon — typically tens of kilometres, extended by terrain and transmitter height. No indoor aerial receives at 500 km, because there is nothing arriving from 500 km to receive.

A stated range in kilometres is not a measurement. It assumes a line of sight nobody has, and this figure is well past even that fiction.

What the listing does not give you

No gain in dB. No cable length. No frequency bands. No bypass switch. Those are the four things that would let this aerial be compared with the others on this shelf, and none of them appears.

What the product may still be

Perfectly adequate. Indoor reception is decided by where the aerial sits far more than by which aerial it is, and a compact amplified unit on the right windowsill can work where an expensive one on the wrong table does not.

The honest way to buy an indoor aerial is to accept that it may have to go back.

The one rule worth carrying

An amplifier lifts noise along with signal, and close to a transmitter it will overload the tuner and make reception worse. With no bypass switch, that cannot be tested here — if the picture breaks up, the amplifier is the first suspect and there is nothing to turn off.
