The feature that makes a remote installation work

An infrared return path. Two IR cables are supplied, and they carry the remote’s signal backwards along the same network cable. Without that, a source in a rack in another room can only be changed by walking to it — which is the reason most remote installations end up abandoned.

The loop-out

An extra HDMI output at the transmitter, for a local display. Useful for monitoring, and useful when the source room also has a screen.

The compression, named

M-JPEG. The maker states it, and states low picture-quality loss. It also uses the word lossless in a different bullet, listing the resolutions it passes. Those two statements sit awkwardly together, and the named compression scheme is the more specific of the two.

The resolution question

The title says 4K at 30 Hz. The specification bullet lists resolutions ending at 1080p 50/60. Where a listing gives two answers, the specification list is the one to plan an installation around.
