A compact player that states its region behaviour precisely — Blu-ray locked to B/2, DVD unlocked — which is exactly the information a disc buyer needs.
The bottom line The region information is the reason to consider it — and the audio format list is the reason to look at the Sony first.
Blu-ray region B/2, DVD all regions. Very few listings state region behaviour at all, and it is the thing that decides whether a disc bought abroad will play. Note that UHD discs are region free entirely — the restriction applies only to Blu-ray and DVD.
Dolby Digital, with no lossless format stated. Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio are what a disc carries that a stream does not, and a player that does not name them is not the one to buy for a system with real speakers.
Composite video alongside HDMI. On a modern television it is irrelevant; on an older set without HDMI it is the difference between working and not.
Up to 128 GB, with PAL and NTSC handling stated. That makes it a modest local media player as well.
