A codec applies only if both ends support it. Standard SBC runs around 200 ms of latency, which is visibly out of sync with a picture. aptX Low Latency is stated at around 40 ms and aptX Adaptive lower still — but pairing a low-latency transmitter with ordinary headphones gives ordinary latency.

Check the headphones first. It decides everything else.

What is genuinely distinctive here
