The pass-through is the point

Optical pass-through. The television’s optical output feeds the transmitter, and the transmitter feeds the soundbar onward. One person listens on headphones; everybody else hears the room normally. That is the arrangement households actually want, and a transmitter without it turns the television silent for everyone else.

Volume where it can be reached

Buttons on the unit and a supplied remote. A television sending audio over optical usually sends it at a fixed level — its own volume control does nothing — so without a control here the only adjustment is on the headphones. That is a real usability difference.

The three exclusions, stated

No HDMI ARC or eARC pass-through. No Auracast. Not for assistive listening devices — and for the last, the maker names a different model in its own range that does the job.

A listing that states three limitations and points a buyer at a competitor product of its own is being straight. It is worth more than a page of feature claims.

The codec rule, once more

Whatever a transmitter supports, the headphones have to support it too. A low-latency transmitter with SBC headphones gives SBC latency, around 200 ms, which is visibly out of sync.
