What it is

An in-line repeater. It goes in the middle of an HDMI run, between two cables, and boosts what passes through. That makes it the only device on this shelf that needs no new cabling — which is frequently what decides an installation in a finished room.

Reading its two numbers together

The listing states 8K at 60 Hz and 4K at up to 240 Hz as resolutions. It states, separately, that it extends 1080p to up to 50 m. Those describe different situations, and they should not be read as one claim. The conservative reading — that the long distance belongs to the lower resolution — is also the ordinary behaviour of a repeater.

The condition the maker attaches

Certified Ultra High Speed cables on both sides. The maker states this in its own tip, and it is not a formality: a repeater boosts what it receives. Feed it a marginal signal from a poor cable and it faithfully boosts a marginal signal.

What it cannot do

Rescue a run that is too long for the resolution being asked of it. A repeater restores signal level; it does not raise a cable’s bandwidth.

The power

Optional USB-C, recommended for especially long runs. On a short one it draws what it needs from the link, which keeps installation simple.
