The height range is the specification

71 to 97 cm. A sofa puts most ears between 95 and 110 cm, and a satellite speaker’s tweeter sits partway up its cabinet — which means a stand in this range puts the tweeter where the ear is at almost every setting.

It is the only stand in this catalogue whose whole range is useful in a listening room.

Three ways to attach a speaker

A top plate, L-brackets and a keyhole adapter. That last one matters: satellites are frequently designed to be wall-mounted, with a keyhole slot in the back and no threaded base at all. Without an adapter, such a speaker cannot sit on a stand.

The column

Thick-walled, offset steel, with a cable channel through it. The offset shape is what lets a speaker sit forward of the column; the channel is what stops a cable dangling down the front.
