The specification that is actually settled

Cross-section against length: 1.5 mm² is ample for ordinary runs, 2.5 mm² for long ones or low-impedance speakers, and beyond that the returns are theoretical. What is worth checking instead is whether the conductor is pure copper or copper-clad aluminium.
