The listing that publishes its table

Most cables state a headline resolution. This one publishes the combinations: 10K 60 Hz, 8K 60 Hz, 5K 165 Hz, 4K 240 Hz and down. That is where the 48 Gbit/s actually goes, and it is more informative than “8K” on its own — resolution without a refresh rate says nothing about bandwidth.

The length

Two metres. The most useful single length in a living room: a wall-mounted television fed from the cabinet beneath it. Long enough to route tidily, short enough that passive copper at 48 Gbit/s is not being asked for anything difficult.

HDCP

2.2 and 2.3. A protected source that cannot negotiate the version in use produces a black screen, not a message. Having it stated removes one candidate when something does not play.
