A cut, hemmed, eyeleted piece of projection fabric in the right aspect ratio. No frame, no roller, no stand. For an outdoor evening that is most of what a screen is.
Tension from all four corners and pull sideways as well as down. Uneven tension, not the fabric, is what makes hanging screens look poor — and a few extra tie points cost nothing.
Gain, backing, fabric weight. All of it. At this price the honest description is “white projection fabric”, and in a dark garden that behaves predictably.
They come out. Hang it a few hours before the screening, or the day before, and the fabric relaxes.
Not the screen. Ambient light, and the projector. A garden after dusk with a modest machine on this fabric is a good evening; the same setup an hour earlier is not, and no screen changes that.

Considerably. A sheet is translucent, uneven in colour and creased; a projection fabric is opaque enough, uniform, and cut to a proper aspect ratio with eyelets to tension it. The difference is visible immediately.
