Not to start. A pair of these with any receiver is a good stereo system. What the range buys is a coherent path: add the XT35 centre and the XT90 height modules later and the whole front behaves as one, which is not true of a mixed system.
The listing does not state the port position, which is the figure that decides. As a rule, a floorstander wants some distance behind it; if the room forces it against a wall, expect fuller and less controlled bass, and check whether the maker supplies port bungs.
