This is a component with ordinary speaker binding posts. That means any passive speakers can be connected, and better ones later, and the receiver stays. A compact system with proprietary connectors is a single object that gets replaced whole.
DAB, which is what makes it a receiver rather than an amplifier. In a household where radio plays every morning, it is the most-used feature on the box and it removes a separate device.
A power figure, and the load. Yamaha publishes both in its full specifications and this listing does not carry them, so the amplifier section cannot be compared here with the Denon on the same shelf.
No HDMI, so a television connects by optical or analogue. Audio will work; volume control from the television remote will not, because control does not travel over those connections.
Speakers. On a two-channel system at this level, the amplifier is rarely the limitation — the speakers and their positions are.
