Radio. Internet stations and DAB together, with Spotify and Bluetooth as additions. That order matters: a device designed for continuous low-bitrate streams is optimised differently from one designed for high-resolution playback.
A kitchen, a study, a workshop — anywhere the audio is on all day and the source is a station rather than an album. In that role, an internet radio with proper connections beats a music streamer that has to be told what to play.
A converter, a sample rate ceiling, and support for AirPlay or Chromecast. All three matter for a music system and rather less for a radio.
It works without a network. When the router is down or being replaced, DAB keeps playing — and it needs no account, no subscription and no app.

Not in quality. Internet radio stations broadcast at modest bitrates — far below what a music service delivers — because they are continuous streams to many listeners. A device built around internet radio is built for a different job from one built for high-resolution playback.
It works without a network, which is the practical difference. A DAB tuner keeps playing when the router is being replaced or the connection drops, and it needs no subscription or account.
