5 200 ANSI lumens, stated. That is a large number in a measured unit, and it is the specification that decides whether a projected image survives daylight or a very large screen. Light spread over a bigger area is dimmer everywhere, so brightness and image size are one question rather than two.
Black level. A machine designed to put a lot of light on a wall does not produce deep blacks in a dark room, and the stated 10 000:1 contrast — unqualified as native or dynamic — is where that shows. In a controlled room, a dimmer projector with better contrast produces a more convincing picture.
Acer lists it for home cinema and business. That is not marketing vagueness: a projector for a lit meeting room and one for a dark living room are optimised in opposite directions, and this one is closer to the first. Knowing that is what makes it the right machine or the wrong one.
