The bottom line A music system disguised as a pair of speakers — convenient, coupled, and quoting a power figure with nothing behind it.
The idea
Everything in the cabinets. Amplification, a DAB+ tuner, Bluetooth 5.4. Plug them in, and the system is complete: no rack, no amplifier, no interconnects, no source.
Where that is genuinely right
A room with no furniture for hi-fi. A bedroom, a study, an open-plan space where a rack of components would be visually impossible. In those rooms this is not a compromise, it is the only shape that fits.
What it costs
Separability, entirely. The amplifier, the tuner and the drivers are one product. When any of them ages, all of them are replaced.
The power figure
320 W, no conditions. This page reports it as published and does not place it beside an RMS rating. On an active design the number matters less anyway: how power is distributed between drivers is an internal decision that no external figure describes.
The cabinets
Wood, and large — stated. On a speaker that has to produce its own bass without a subwoofer, cabinet volume is the specification that matters most, and a large wooden enclosure is the right answer.

What we like, and what we don't
Strengths
A complete system in two boxes — amplifier, radio and Bluetooth all inside the speakers
Wooden cabinets rather than plastic, stated
No shelf, no separate component, no interconnects
Compromises
320 W stated without conditions — a figure to read as a class indicator rather than a measurement
Active with a tuner inside: the whole system is one product with no separable parts
No sensitivity or frequency response, and on an active speaker only the second would mean anything

Questions people actually ask
Is a radio inside a speaker a good idea?
It is a convenience and a coupling. Everything in one cabinet means nothing to place and nothing to connect; it also means a failure anywhere takes the whole system, and the tuner cannot be upgraded while the speakers stay.
How should I read 320 W?
As a class indicator. There is no stated load, bandwidth or distortion, so it cannot be compared with an RMS figure — and on an active speaker, power distribution between drivers is an internal design decision anyway.
Passive pair · 500 W maximum stated · works with common hi-fi amplifiers
The entry floorstander: a passive pair with a maximum power figure and little else published, at the price where most people buy their first tower speakers.
Best for: A first pair of tower speakers, where the alternative is bookshelf speakers on a shelf.
Floorstanding · top of the Monitor XT range · Terylene dome tweeter · Hi-Res capable frequency extension stated
The largest speaker in the Monitor XT range, which also contains the matching centre and height module in this catalogue — a system rather than a speaker.
Best for: The front pair of a Polk Monitor XT system, with the matching centre and height modules from this catalogue.
